May is recognised as both Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Awareness Month and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD) Awareness Month. It’s a time to increase awareness, deepen understanding, listen to lived experiences, and highlight the importance of timely, person-centred care.⠀

Physiotherapists play a key role in supporting individuals with EDS by providing personalised management strategies that focus on strength, stability, function, and confidence in movement. Because EDS presents differently in each person, diagnosis can be complex and often delayed. As a result, physiotherapy care is tailored to the individual, recognising that different forms of EDS require different approaches.⠀
